Location: The Woodlands, TX
DutiesResponsible for the sourcing, qualification, commercialization, and supplier development of assigned Electrical Equipment Commodities supporting industrial plant applications. Procure equipment, materials, engineering, and services for business clients from approved suppliers in a timely manner by utilizing frame agreements or sources at the lowest evaluated cost and delivery. Solicit and analyze quotations, select successful supplier, and complete purchases within set levels of authority.
Responsible for the identification, registration, and qualification of new sources for accountable Materials Groups to complete qualification in Ariba SLP. Maintain and update existing supplier qualifications for LENA electrical Equipment suppliers carried over but not yet integrated into Ariba SLP. Follow procurement standards and quality systems and focus on compliance with procurement work processes. Supporting Linde Engineering Americas (LEA) by being responsible for supplier relationships and global reporting for the Motor suppliers in the assigned region.
- Must have a Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Engineering (any), Business, Finance, or Supply Chain Management or related field and at least 3 years of experience in a similar role.
- Must have three (3) years of experience with understanding engineering drawings, terminology, and practices, including reading electrical schematics and single‑line electrical diagrams.
- Knowledge of terminology and main parts/cost drivers of the equipment for clear understanding of scope of supply and basic technical requirements.
- Experience negotiating commercial terms, including purchase order terms, main standard terms and conditions such as payment terms, warranty, insurance, execution requirements, penalties/liquidated damages, and other contract law applications.
- Understanding of main factors determining the cost of project execution, including all potential risks, hidden cost, internal cost, and previous experience with vendor, market data and trends to support such forecasts.
- Ability to integrate mechanical equipment into gas plants and facilities, demonstrating a deep understanding of each machine’s working parts.
- Conducting market research for electrical products and knowing the main companies for each group of materials, price levels, standard lead times, and specifics of their work.
- Procuring electrical and instrumentation equipment for international projects, including knowledge of specific requirements of markets outside the US such as technical standards, international law, key suppliers in each region, and tax requirements of the country in which the project is located.
- 10% domestic and international travel required.
