OverviewThe Project Engineer researches, plans, and designs mechanical and electro-mechanical components, products, and systems. This engineer will be responsible for the execution of projects by developing drawings, documents, bills of materials, packaging and schedules. The Project Engineer will direct drafting and document control as needed in the organization, development, and submittal of project documents. This engineer will coordinate with the Engineering Manager and Manufacturing Manager in the release of information to Manufacturing for the production of equipment in accordance with customer requirements.
Responsibilities- Designs water treatment skids/packages including reverse osmosis watermakers, sodium hypochlorite generators, pressure sets / hydrophore systems, and UV Disinfectant systems for the heavy industrial and the O&G markets.
- Designs systems meeting the customer’s specifications incorporating C’treat’s best practices.
- Develops P&’s, GA’s, data sheets, and other project documentation and drawings for their assigned projects.
- Selects components (such as pumps, instruments, controls, plumbing and hardware) and creates bill of material for the systems they design.
- Project management.
- Directs and coordinates fabrication, inspection, and test activities to ensure products and systems conform to engineering design and customer specifications.
- Works with the sales team to provide design solutions, cost estimates, and specification exceptions.
- Acts as the liaison between the customer and manufacturing to ensure customer requirements are met throughout the contract period.
- Bachelor's degree in engineering is required.
- 7-10 years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
- Offshore design experience is preferred.
- Experience with structural design shapes, structural and metallic piping design, fabrication welding, and testing is preferred.
- Experience in industrial water treatment with knowledge of reverse osmosis systems, filtration systems, pumping systems, hydraulics, basic water chemistry, and in packaged equipment design is preferred.
- Certification as a Professional Engineer (mechanical or chemical) is preferred.
- Professional written and verbal communication skills are required.
