Monitra has an exciting opportunity, based in our USA Office, The Woodlands, TX (although travel is required) for a Senior Applications Engineer to join our growing US team.
Role and Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for;

  • Senior Applications Engineer for on-line and offline high voltage testing
  • PD and Electrical Condition Monitoring Specialist to support US operations
  • Providing applied engineering and technical support/advice for customers and colleagues
  • Onsite testing of HV electrical assets.
  • Executing and leading challenging insulation condition test projects for MV and HV assets using on-line and offline techniques
  • Interpreting specifications and customer’s technical requirements/enquiries
  • Producing, reviewing and approving PD data analysis reports
  • Providing diagnostic advice to users of condition monitoring technology
  • Technical presentation to customer in presales and post sales context.
  • Acting as ambassador for Monitra at trade organisations/conferences (e.g. IEEE, CIGRE, etc.) by writing and presenting technical papers, case studies, demonstrating equipment and involvement in associated committees

All staff are expected to always work to Company procedures.

  • A degree in Electrical & Electronic Engineering (or equivalent) and 3-5+ years in service experience.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the USA, and commutable distance of our office Woodlands (near Houston).
  • Expert knowledge of HV testing techniques.
  • Knowledge of safety precautions related to working with HV electrical equipment.
  • Situational awareness of onsite safety protocols.
  • Sound knowledge of electrical circuits and spectral analysis.
  • Knowledge of HV electrical assets:
    Cables, Transformers, Reactors, Rotating Machines etc.
  • Self-management of assigned projects and ability to work effectively with minimum supervision.
  • Strong computer skills including report writing.
