Job Description

Estimator role at Webber, part of Ferrovial Construction. The candidate will analyze, prepare, and review bids for heavy civil projects—including roadway, highway, and bridge components—requiring experience with large projects ($50 million+). The position involves technical expertise across all delivery methods.

Responsibilities
  • Assess cost effectiveness of products, projects, and services.
  • Track actual costs versus bids and monitor commodity pricing throughout the project life cycle.
  • Consult with clients, vendors, and cross‑department personnel to formulate strategies, estimates, and resolve conflicts.
  • Coordinate with engineers, owners, contractors, and subcontractors regarding changes and adjustments.
  • Review plans, specifications, and industry practices for utility and water/wastewater treatment projects.
  • Manage bidding correspondence, including plans, bid forms, RFI’s, clarifications, and addenda.
  • Administer full‑cycle take‑offs, pricing, subcontractor evaluation, and bid submission—often with limited plans.
  • Maintain supplier, contractor, and subcontractor directories using Smart Bid Net .
  • Prepare sub‑bid analysis documents for the project team.
  • Create electronic estimates and cost information for management and scheduling purposes.
Qualifications
  • Experience with all delivery methods:
    Hard Bid, CSP, CMAR, CMGC, and Design Build.
  • Minimum bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proficiency in estimating software (AutoCAD, Primavera, Timberline, Win Est, etc.).
  • Strong Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Word skills.
  • Self‑motivated, capable of managing multiple deadlines independently.
  • Team‑player through the pre‑construction phase.
  • Valid driver’s license for occasional travel.
