Job Description & How to Apply Below

Founded in 2007, Ward Getz & Associates LLC (WGA) is a Texas based professional consulting firm that has steadily grown in a competitive market by consistently delivering exceptional quality and service. Our success is rooted in the belief that creative design drives successful projects and that strong collaborative relationships with municipalities, permitting authorities, and local and state agencies lead to tangible results throughout the development process.

Our diverse project experience spans industrial, commercial, large mixed‑use developments, hospitality, healthcare, education, municipal infrastructure, and both multifamily and single‑family residential projects. From preliminary feasibility studies to full scale design, we are committed to providing value through innovative and cost‑effective solutions tailored to each project's unique needs. With five established offices across Texas in Houston, The Woodlands, College Station, Austin, and San Antonio, and with remote team members located throughout the United States, WGA continues to expand its reach while maintaining a strong local presence.

Responsibilities

As a Project Manager in our Residential Land Development team, you’ll lead projects from preliminary design through construction support—delivering practical, cost‑effective solutions that help move communities forward. You’ll manage engineers, designers, and subconsultants, while serving as a key client contact and departmental leader. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast‑paced, team‑driven environment and leads by example—technically strong, organized, communicative, and committed to mentoring others.

You will also:

  • Oversee the planning, coordination, and execution of single‑family residential land development projects across all phases
  • Manage internal teams including E.I.T.s, CAD Designers, and Technicians, while coordinating with external consultants, contractors, and public agencies
  • Serve as the client point‑of‑contact to provide updates, manage expectations, and build lasting relationships
  • Prepare and monitor project scopes, schedules, budgets, and deliverables with minimal oversight
  • Provide technical direction on design tasks, including grading, drainage, utilities, and paving
  • Support entitlement coordination and construction phase services
  • Interpret jurisdictional design criteria and permitting requirements across multiple agencies
  • Represent WGA in a professional, ethical, and client‑focused manner, consistent with our core values
Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in civil engineering consulting
  • Actively pursuing or ability to obtain Texas PE license
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and general civil site design
  • Strong technical foundation in hydrology/hydraulics, grading, utilities, and road design
  • Understanding of jurisdictional permitting processes and agency submittal requirements
  • Excellent communication, documentation, and organizational skills
  • Self‑motivated, solutions‑oriented, and capable of working both independently and within a team
  • Ability to balance multiple deadlines while maintaining technical accuracy
Preferred Qualifications
  • Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) in the State of Texas
  • 4+ years of progressive experience in residential land development
  • Demonstrated experience managing projects, client coordination, and mentoring junior staff
  • Commitment to continuous learning, team development, and operational improvement
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Leadership and team management
  • Technical problem‑solving and engineering judgment
  • Time management and prioritization
  • Client service and interpersonal communication
  • Financial awareness of scope, fees, and performance
  • Adaptability in a fast‑moving, deadline‑driven environment
