HGA is seeking an E&I Designer for a direct-hire role in our Woodlands, TX office, responsible for supporting engineering design, drafting, and project delivery across multiple projects.
Work under the supervision of the E&I Lead Engineer
Understand project scope and seek clarification as needed
Understand and support drawing package deliverables
Maintain work within assigned budget hours
Perform field work to identify:
Cable routings
Spare motor starter cubicles
Junction box spares
Prepare AutoCAD drawings
Ensure company and/or client drafting standards and design practices are followed
Communicate needs, delays, or issues to the Lead Engineer
Review and interpret vendor drawings related to E&I scope
Check all work for completeness and accuracy prior to submission
Complete work efficiently to support project deadlines
Provide engineering/design support tasks including:
Making copies
Converting .dwg files to PDFs

Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesWork under the supervision of the E&I Lead Engineer
Understand project scope and seek clarification as needed
Understand and support drawing package deliverables
Maintain work within assigned budget hours
Perform field work to identify:
Cable routings
Spare motor starter cubicles
Spare power panel circuits
Junction box spares
Spare I/O, etc.
Prepare AutoCAD drawings
Ensure company and/or client drafting standards and design practices are followed
Communicate needs, delays, or issues to the Lead Engineer
Review and interpret vendor drawings related to E&I scope
Check all work for completeness and accuracy prior to submission
Complete work efficiently to support project deadlines
Provide engineering/design support tasks including:
Assembling document packages
Making copies
Converting .dwg files to PDFs
8+ years of experience in the oil and gas industry
Proficient in AutoCAD 2019 or higher
Proficient in AutoCAD 3D modeling (CADWorx experience preferred)
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word (Access is a plus)
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
Ability to interface with clients as needed
Strong prioritization and execution skills in a high-pressure environment
Willingness and ability to learn and apply new technologies
General knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and industry standards
Extensive knowledge of CAD and engineering design software
Must be able to commute to the Woodlands office several days per week
Experience with control panel design (strongly preferred)
Experience with a consulting engineering firm (strongly preferred)
Electrical and/or Instrumentation technical degree (preferred)
CADWorx experience preferred
Access is a plus
