The Cloud Engineer within Entergy’s Cloud Application Services group provides IT guidance and services to internal clients and delivers ongoing support for cloud-based products, services, applications, and solutions. The role covers the full application lifecycle—from understanding business needs to hands-on development, configuration, deployment, and support of applications. This position involves working with cloud technologies, including , to support critical processes such as customer engagement and relationship management.

• Provide operational support to ensure production systems are online and highly available.
• Provide routine and emergency support for production applications, including restoration after outages.
• Understand client business needs, recommend and design applications, and implement enhancements that meet customer requirements. Generate requirements based on functional upgrades, third-party apps, and innovations; support design, development, and testing of applications.
• Capture customer epics and user stories as part of AGILE project development.
• Maximize out-of-the-box capabilities of cloud platforms in project design.
• Develop application features with configuration and, when applicable, custom code development.
• Communicate and resolve application interface issues. Coordinate changes, upgrades, and testing with support providers for legacy systems.
• Support a continuous delivery environment by adhering to processes, standards, and Dev Ops tools for version control, release management, automated testing, and deployment.
• Support the development of IT strategies, roadmaps, and business cases, including financials, contracts, or projects.
• Provide senior technical guidance to the support team as an escalation point for complex issues and perform peer reviews for application changes.
• Serve as lead and participate in the team’s 24-hour on-call rotation.

• Minimum
  
  Education Required:
  
  Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Information Systems, Computer Science, or related technical degree, or equivalent work experience.
• Minimum Experience
  
  Required:
  
  At least 6+ years of solution design experience. Ability to provide operational support including non-business hours on-call; experience with design, development, and testing of cloud applications and enhancements; ability to understand client business needs and objectives.
• Required — Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Customer-focused, highly motivated with the ability to work with moderate supervision; effective teamwork and inclusion; good written and oral communication skills; experience administering cloud-based solutions (e.g., ) is desired; experience developing applications in Salesforce APEX, Java, C#, C++, or  is desired.
