Overview

Sterling Infrastructure is looking for an IT Technical Project Manager in The Woodlands, TX.

At Sterling Infrastructure, we don’t just deliver projects — we build the systems and technology that power some of the most complex infrastructure organizations in the country. We’re looking for a Technical Project Manager who thrives at the intersection of technology, business, and execution. If you love untangling complexity, leading cross-functional teams, and driving large-scale initiatives (including M&A integrations), this is a role where you’ll make a visible impact from day one.

Why Sterling? Sterling Infrastructure offers the opportunity to work on meaningful, high-visibility initiatives in a company that’s growing, evolving, and investing in its technology. You’ll be trusted to lead, encouraged to think strategically, and supported by a collaborative IT organization.

What You’ll Do
  • Lead and deliver complex technical projects on time, on budget, and aligned with business goals
  • Serve as the bridge between technical teams and business stakeholders — translating needs into executable solutions
  • Drive project planning, execution, and reporting using Agile and ITIL methodologies
  • Proactively identify risks, roadblocks, and scope changes — and solve them before they become issues
  • Facilitate project meetings, status updates, and executive-level reporting with clarity and confidence
  • Partner with M&A teams to support IT due diligence and post-acquisition integration planning
  • Ensure solutions are scalable, sustainable, and aligned with best practices
  • Contribute to IT portfolio planning and enterprise reporting strategies
Position Requirements

What We’re Looking For

  • Hands-on experience leading technical projects in large, complex organizations
  • Proven experience supporting M&A activities, including integration planning
  • Strong knowledge of PMBOK, Agile frameworks, and ITIL concepts
  • Ability to align technical solutions with business objectives
  • Comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communicator — equally effective with technical teams and executive leadership
  • Skilled at influencing, building consensus, and navigating complex organizational dynamics
Tools & Experience
  • MS Project, Visio, Excel, Share Point
  • Work Breakdown Structures (WBS), critical path (CPM) scheduling
  • Epic/Story development in Agile environments
  • Enterprise-level project documentation and reporting
  • Experience reporting project progress to senior leadership and C-suite stakeholders
