Systems Administrator - The Woodlands, TX

Iron Oak Energy, a leading provider of proppant to the oil and gas industry, is seeking a Systems Administrator for its corporate office in The Woodlands, TX. The role is hands‑on, supporting on‑premise and Azure cloud environments, with a focus on Microsoft tools and technologies. The Systems Administrator will provide technical support, IT governance and change management while collaborating with the IT team.
DescriptionResponsibilities include system migration, data‑center moves, configuration, incident management and vendor oversight. The Systems Administrator will act as second‑level support, prepare disaster recovery plans, manage Azure cloud workloads, and facilitate ITIL‑aligned communication.
Key Responsibilities- Complete project work related to systems migration, data center moves, setup, upgrades and administration as assigned by the IT Director.
- Ensure the smooth functioning of IT systems and network, including monitoring, diagnosis and resolution of performance and security issues.
- Utilize scripting languages such as Power Shell to configure and modify systems.
- Act as second level support for Service Desk personnel.
- Manage incidents, resolution, and communication to internal customers.
- Prioritize incidents following ITIL framework, send outage communications, prepare Change Requests and ensure approvals, and participate in CAB.
- Administer all on‑premise and Azure cloud systems, workloads, security and configuration.
- Prepare and test disaster recovery, backup and restore plans on a scheduled basis.
- Manage IT vendors, review SOWs, and ensure tasks are executed per IT standards and policies.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or related field.
- Certification in one of the areas:
Microsoft Azure Admin, VMware Certified, CCNA or CompTIA Security+. - 3‑5 years of experience in Microsoft Azure, VMware, Windows Servers, Domain Controllers, Intune, MDT, Autopilot and/or SCCM.
- Ability to multi‑task, manage multiple internal customers and IT vendors.
