The successful candidate will be responsible for managing, reporting to insurance carriers and overseeing day‑to‑day claim processing activities for Workers’ Compensation, General Liability, Auto, Equipment, and Property Damage for the designated business units. In addition, they will create safety key performance indicators, update safety policies and documentation, and work on safety integration projects.

Position Description

The Role
  • Assists in the day‑to‑day processing, managing, reporting, and documentation of Workers’ Compensation, General Liability, Auto, Equipment and Property Damage claims, including communicating with the business units, employees, insurance carriers, and 3rd parties.
  • Evaluates information and reports related to claims payments and reviews medical bills and payroll records to ensure compliance and accuracy of information provided to third parties.
  • Create monthly safety Key Performance Indicator Reports, update policies and documentation, and work on Safety Integration projects.
  • Attend telephonic Insurance Carrier claims reviews and prepare and present at internal claim reviews with designated business units.
  • Address questions about Workers’ Compensation benefits, inform employees of their rights and benefits under various state workers’ compensation laws.
  • Gather information/data on incident causes and create reports in coordination with the company Safety Departments.
  • As it relates to Workers’ Compensation claims, assist in maintaining ongoing oversight of third-party providers, including requesting investigation activities, questioning and resolving discrepancies, monitoring medical treatment, including rehabilitation, and reviewing case reserves for adequacy.
  • Act as a Liaison to the Company’s Return to Work program, as required.
  • Review and evaluate settlement authority requests and make recommendations for approval or revision to the Corporate Claims and Risk Manager.
  • Provide courteous and expeditious customer service to administrators, employees, and the public.
  • May assist in restitution/subrogation recovery activities.
  • Perform related duties as assigned.
  • Receive general supervision from the Corporate Claims and Risk Manager and the VP of Safety and Health.
Qualifications

Position Requirements
  • 1-3 years of experience as a workers’ compensation claims processor/adjuster, handling workers’ compensation claims in multiple states.
  • 2+ years of college is preferred.
  • 1-3 years of experience in general liability and automobile claims processing, reporting, investigation on claims including the posting of appropriate reserves in a timely manner.
  • Experience with Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Spanish speaking bilingual skills are considered a plus for this position.
