The Operations Excellence Project Manager leads initiatives to improve and innovate operational systems, efficiency, and performance across OXY GOA operations. The role interfaces with various work groups to design, implement, and sustain process improvements, manage change, and deliver measurable results. Responsibilities include facilitating workshops, developing procedures and training, supporting SAP and Operations Excellence tools, providing data‑driven insights, and ensuring audit readiness.

The position requires extensive oil and gas operations experience, strong project management skills, and knowledge of Operations Excellence, safety systems, and offshore asset integrity.

Education: Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business or related discipline is required.

Experience: The successful candidate will have a minimum of fifteen (15) years experience with preferred experience in project engineering, project management, and/or operations & maintenance in the oil and gas industry. The candidate will also have experience in developing or have been part of an organization that practices Operations Excellence, demonstrating clear history of success in a learning organization.

General Responsibilities
  • Role is based in The Woodlands, TX on a 9/80 work schedule.
  • Role is expected to travel to offshore locations as required ~ 1–3 times per year.
  • Lead Operational Excellence (OE) projects and initiatives, partnering with operations and engineering to improve processes, manage change, and deliver measurable operational improvements.
  • Facilitate workshops, consulting engagements, and knowledge transfer, mentoring staff and leveraging cross‑industry experience to strengthen operational capability.
  • Support selection of targeted areas for improvement projects.
  • Manage the design of process improvements and associated procedures, tools, and templates.
  • Manage the transition of the improvements to the appropriate Oxy GOA teams and monitor implementation of the improvements. This includes development and roll‑out of training to the appropriate Oxy GOA teams.
Operations Expertise Responsibilities
  • Act as Operations Excellence advisor for use of enterprise software tools (e.g. Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Control of Work, SAP, APM) providing troubleshooting, surveillance, and continuous improvement support to operations.
  • Provide SAP and data‑driven operational expertise, integrating SAP with OE reporting, Downgraded Situation dashboards, and emerging digital / AI‑enabled tools.
  • Serve as operational technical SME for Downgraded Situation programs, HAZOP verification support, and specialized safety critical systems.
  • Support Asset Integrity offshore program with data analysis and insights and improvement opportunities.
  • Support audit readiness, preparing the offshore organization for increasing internal audit demands, and assessing compliance with company policies and procedures.

Competencies:
  • Project management skills and understanding of business drivers, project life cycle, schedule risk, and decision support.
  • Experience with developing and implementing new processes and managing business culture change.
  • Working knowledge of permit systems (i.e. Control of Work), including troubleshooting, surveillance, and continuous improvement.
