All members of Entergy’s safety function will be expected to own safety, work to prevent incidents and seek to improve with the understanding that zero harm is possible. The program manager will be expected to lead, develop, manage, and improve assigned safety and occupational health programs. There will be regular opportunities to demonstrate skills in change management, contract management and communications.
This position will also be required to present to leadership the health of the program they are responsible for, and any deficiencies identified along with sustainable solutions to prevent future issues. It will be expected that the program manager engages with and advise more junior safety professionals to support their growth and build bench strength within the safety function.
- Manage the implementation, maintenance, and validation of assigned safety and occupational health management system components.
- Manage revision process, stakeholder groups, external vendors, and platforms for assigned management system components.
- Liaise with and support business unit safety and operational leadership to lead and influence continuous improvement across Entergy.
- Manage assigned programs through data review, observations, and feedback and perform revisions as needed.
- Lead field visits seeking to understand and assess the health of assigned programs.
- Manage applicable processes, resources and contracts associated with safety programs.
- Lead and/or participate in internal and external special project teams with the purpose of continuous improvement.
- Engage, develop, and maintain relationships with external partners, organizations, and memberships.
- Support and encourage the growth and development of safety professionals across the organization through coaching and mentorship.
Minimum Education
Bachelors Required or equivalent work experience
Minimum Experience7+ years industry with minimum 4 years in safety
Minimum Knowledge,Skills And Abilities
- Thorough understanding of applicable OSHA regulations and industry guidelines.
- Experience working within safety and occupational health management systems (i.e. ISO 45001, OHSAS 18001, ANSI/ASSP Z10).
- Experience with change management and project management.
- Ability to observe and engage with employees and contract partners.
- Investigation/RCA with tools such as Tap Root, Cause Mapping, Fishbone, Five whys, etc.
- Skilled in analyzing and interpreting data to identify trends utilizing tools such as Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Power
BI, SAS, etc. - Ability to interact with customers and members of the public in a pleasant and tactful manner.
- Ability to manage multiple activities and changing priorities.
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to work irregular hours and out of town assignments as required.
