Texas Oncology is looking for a PRN Oncology Infusion Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team in The Woodlands, Texas. This position will support The Woodlands location and is Monday‑Friday with no weekends, holidays, or on‑call duties. It can be Level I, II, or Senior depending on the candidate’s experience. Long‑TermIncentive Plan (LTIP)
Long‑Term Incentive Plan (LTIP) is an incentive program that typically vests over a three‑year period and is tied to both individual performance and the operational success of Texas Oncology. Awards are discretionary and based on position, performance, and potential for future career growth. Awards are reviewed and approved during the annual compensation review and are subject to continued employment through the award payment date.
Whatdoes the Oncology Registered Nurse (RN) do?
Under minimal supervision, the RN provides professional nursing care for patients adhering to national and company standards and guidelines for specialty regulations. The RN demonstrates knowledge of physiological, psychological, and developmental differences in the patient population including late adolescence, adulthood, middle age, and the elderly, and collaborates with the interdisciplinary team to assess and manage patient/family needs.
Responsibilities- Plan, implement, coordinate, evaluate and promote the continuity of care consistent with established standards and practices.
- Assess patient/family needs and provide teaching and instructional material.
- Prepare and administer therapies under the direction and supervision of a physician.
- Administer all medications/blood products using correct medication/blood product, dosage/amount, route, time and technique.
- Assure pre‑authorization and appropriate consent forms are obtained prior to administration of therapies where applicable.
- Facilitate dose modification by assessing patient, labs, consulting protocol or treatment plan, calculating dose, and consulting physician regarding dosage modifications, problems and symptom management.
- Perform venipuncture, access implanted ports and maintain central line catheter devices.
- Maintain accurate documentation of assigned patient care and treatments provided.
- Apply knowledge of reimbursement procedures and charge capture.
The ideal candidate will have the following background and experience:
Education/Training Level I- Graduate from an accredited program for professional nursing education; BSN preferred.
- RN state license and current registration with the State Board of Nursing in the practicing state.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Must maintain continuing education requirements.
- Entry level – 0‑3 years nursing experience; oncology experience strongly preferred.
- Minimum three (3) years of nursing experience; oncology experience strongly preferred.
- Minimum five (5) years of nursing experience, including at least one year in oncology strongly preferred.
- Oncology certification preferred.

Physical RequirementsRequires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity, and eye‑hand coordination. Requires standing and walking for extensive periods of time. Occasionally lifts and carries items weighing up to 40 lbs. Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.
