Position OverviewWe are seeking an experienced Surveying Supervisor with a current Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) license to lead our surveying department. This position oversees all survey operations — from field data collection to final deliverables — ensuring precision, efficiency, and compliance with professional standards.
You’ll manage field crews, review and sign plats, coordinate with engineers, and play a key role in maintaining our firm’s reputation for quality and reliability.
Key Responsibilities- Supervise survey crews and oversee daily field operations.
- Conduct surveys to determine property boundaries.
- Review and certify boundary, topographic, and construction surveys.
- Research legal records, survey records, and land titles to understand the context of a land area.
- Manage scheduling, project timelines, and survey budgets.
- Draft and oversee new project quotes.
- Perform QA/QC on field data and plats before delivery.
- Train and mentor field staff to maintain consistent accuracy and safety.
- Collaborate closely with engineers and drafters to ensure data alignment.
- Maintain survey equipment and ensure proper calibration and care.
- Support project proposals and client communication as needed.
- Active Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) license in Louisiana — required.
- Strong knowledge of AutoCAD, GPS, and total station workflows.
- Proven leadership and team management skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to interpret and analyze complex data and legal documents.
- Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
- Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
