Now Hiring:
Automation Design Engineer | Slidell / New Orleans, LA Area
I’m partnering with an established engineering and manufacturing organization supporting the marine industry to add an Automation Design Engineer to its team.
This is a hands‑on engineering role for someone who enjoys taking automation projects from electrical/system design through PLC/HMI programming, integration and testing
.
- Design automation and electrical control systems for marine applications
- Program and configure PLCs and HMIs
- Work with Siemens TIA Portal and related automation platforms
- Develop electrical schematics and detailed engineering drawings
- Create and modify designs using AutoCAD and Inventor
- Support power management, propulsion, monitoring/alarm and steering control applications
- Perform system integration, software testing and troubleshooting
- Coordinate with manufacturing, procurement and suppliers to move designs into production
- Develop 3D models and supporting technical documentation
- 3–5+ years of automation, controls or system design experience
- PLC/HMI programming experience
- Siemens TIA Portal experience strongly preferred
- AutoCAD experience
- Strong electrical circuitry and controls knowledge
