Job Responsibilities
- Conduct kinship caregiver orientations and deliver a 12‑hour training curriculum to families in the certification process.
- Complete home inspections, home study/psychosocial evaluations, and collect all documentation required for certification of a kinship home.
- Provide support to kinship families for 90 days following certification by offering access to information and resources, phone calls, and in‑person visits to the home when warranted.
- Maintain excellent oral and written communication skills and be computer efficient.
- Be willing to travel throughout the state when performing recruiting functions.
- Perform other duties as required.
- Possess a minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services and at least two years of related service.
- Have a fundamental love for others and a desire to be an agent for change in their lives.
- Exhibit empathy for others and practice the Golden Rule in relationships.
- Be an active, eager learner and willing to try new methods.
- Possess a strong sense of personal authority, maturity, and integrity for agency‑wide leadership roles.
- Demonstrate strong leadership skills to promote staff unity, staff morale, and cooperative relationships among various agency departments.
- Appreciate the value of maintaining a culturally diverse staff, work collaboratively with a diverse staff, and communicate effectively with all staff members.
- Possess a sense of personal authority, maturity, and integrity for leadership roles with staff and youth.
- Have strong verbal and social skills for use with youth and staff.
- Commit to protecting confidential information, records, and reports.
- Maintain a strong work ethic and be willing to commit to significant job responsibilities.
- Have excellent organizational and leadership skills and possess imaginative and creative abilities.
- Be able to function in many different roles and participate effectively in the life of Louisiana United Methodist Children and Family Services.

To be arranged so as best to accomplish the work to be done. - Salary:
As provided for in the agency’s current Annual Budget. - Benefits:
