Job Summary
The Medical Assistant position provides support in the facilitation of patient care in the clinical setting.
Duties/Responsibilities- Greets all patients in a friendly, courteous, and professional manner.
- Ensures that patients and related materials flow smoothly through the clinic.
- Completes physical data on each patient.
- Ensures that the patient’s basic needs are met while in exam rooms.
- Assists physician as requested during treatment.
- Assists in preparing patients for orthopedic procedures, including obtaining necessary consents and ensuring proper documentation.
- Coordinates with the healthcare team to ensure continuity of care and address any patient concerns.
- Documents patient interactions, care provided, and progress accurately and comprehensively.
- Maintains accurate and up‑to‑date patient records.
- Schedules follow‑up appointments and coordinates with other healthcare providers as needed.
- Understands and follows all OSHA and HIPAA rules at all times.
- Is willing to travel between clinic locations on occasion, as assigned.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong customer service skills with a focus on patient satisfaction.
- Professional, dependable, and maintains a positive attitude in a fast‑paced environment.
- Self-directed and goal‑oriented.
- Organized and able to multitask to facilitate efficient workflow.
- Knowledgeable of medical terminology and general medical practice operations.
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and ability to maintain patient confidentiality.
- Basic office skills such as typing, filing, and operating phones.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Medical Assistant certification preferred.
- Experience with computerized medical office work.
- Frequent standing and walking.

This is an in-person position based primarily in Thibodaux, LA, but requires regular local travel to satellite clinics. This is a full‑time, non‑exempt position.
