The Parish/Cemetery Maintenance and Facilities Associate is apart-time, non-exempt position that will be responsible for the maintenance andupkeep of the parish facilities and cemetery grounds and oversee Maintenance & Capital Improvement Projects for Our Lady of Prompt Succor Church-Chackbay.
The Parish/Cemetery Maintenance and Facilities Associate reports to the Director of Business Operations and will be expected to work approximately 25 hours per week.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities Include The Following:Qualifications to Perform the Job Successfully:
Education and/or
Experience:
- General facilities maintenance, basic carpentry, and grounds keeping knowledge.
- Must be able to successfully complete Safe Environment training.
- Must have a driver's license with a good driving record.
- Must have own transportation which can be used for reasonable work-related errands.
- Ability to conduct oneself with a professional attitude and manner.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive situations, documents, and records.
- Basic knowledge of the Catholic Church, teachings, and her values.
- Ability to understand, follow and transmit written and oral instructions.
- Must be able to communicate clearly by phone, in written form including email, and verbally with staff members, and parishioners, volunteers, and other professionals in the English language.
- Must be able to multi-task and set priorities.
- Must be able to regularly walk, stand, kneel, crouch, and climb ladders, and the like for long periods of time.
- Ability to operate handheld tools, power tools/equipment, and measuring devices.
- Must be able to perform strenuous activities, including but not limited to lifting and/or moving between 75lbs-100lbs unassisted or with the use of a dolly.
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather (e.g. hot, cold, wet).
