Experienced 6gr Welders
We are now accepting resumes for experienced 6gr welders for the Thibodaux, LA and surrounding area. Duties and responsibilities may include:
- Welding as needed
- Positioning pieces to be welded into jigs, holding fixtures, guides and steps using measuring instruments and hand tools
- Clamping, holding, tack-welding, grinding, and bolting components to position for welding
- Examining work pieces for defects and measuring work pieces with straightedges or templates to ensure conformance with specifications
- Operating cutting equipment including torches and various power and hand tools
- Removing rough spots from work pieces, using portable grinders, hand files, or scrapers
- Safely operating iron worker, grinders, overhead cranes, rigging, pipe threading machine, welding machine, and various pneumatic hand tools
- Assembling components with some fabrication of equipment needed for the job with minimal supervision
- Managing housekeeping activities when requested, including maintaining the work area clean, safe and organized, assisting in waste disposal and recycling activities, and cleaning up work area and equipment after work is completed
- Executing daily work instructions received from supervisor in a timely manner
- Working effectively to meet or exceed productivity goals while maintaining high quality standards, practicing safety procedures in accordance with training and guidelines when working, complying with company policies and legal guidelines, helping to maintain a safe and orderly work environment, meeting quality and performance requirements as outlined by quality assurance and production standards, and reporting safety hazards, quality, and production issues to management immediately
Physical requirements include the ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand, bend, stoop, squat, or kneel regularly, as well as climb stairs and ladders to complete tasks. The employee is regularly exposed to high, precarious places and outside weather conditions, and occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles and risk of electrical shock.
Documents required include a driver's license/identification card and social security card/birth certificate. Must be able to pass a drug test, have reliable transportation, and own welding shield and PPE (hard hat, steel toes, gloves, & safety glasses).
Pay is DOE with weekly pay on a Monday to Sunday schedule.
