Overview
The City of Thibodaux is accepting online applications for the position of Utility Service Repair Technician in the Public Works Department.
Responsibilities- Monitor and repair water and gas leaks.
- Find leaks in water and gas lines; provide water and gas services for customers and businesses; repair damages to pipes; repair and install fire hydrants.
- Respond to customer inquiries.
- Must be 18 years of age.
- Knowledge equivalent to four years of high school or equivalent; no specific experience required; on-the-job training provided.
- Pass a written civil service test and be in a selectable position.
- Valid Louisiana driver's license is required.
- Must be able to reach the job site within 30 minutes.
Written test date:
Wednesday, August 19, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. at the Recreation Building, 151 Peltier Park Drive, Thibodaux, LA. The oral test (interview) will be announced later.
Final date to receive applications:
Friday, August 14, 2026 at 12:00 noon.
Pay Grade 615 (Minimum Pay: $17.70; Midpoint: $23.01).
