Director, Global Trade Compliance
Arctic Cat is seeking a strategic Director, Global Trade Compliance with strong leadership capabilities and a track record of building and enhancing compliance programs to join our Thief River Falls location.
Arctic Cat is a leader in the powersports industry. Arctic Cat markets its Snowmobile, ATV and SXS products through a network of independent dealers located throughout the United States and Canada and through distributors representing dealers in Europe, South America, the Middle East, Asia and other international markets.
- Manage key aspects of the company's trade compliance program, including applicable policies and procedures.
- Provide interpretation of government regulations including 19 CFR, CBP guidance, and CBSA requirements in support of business needs.
- Perform and maintain tariff classification for parts, assemblies, and finished vehicles using HTSUS and Canadian Customs Tariff classification.
- Research regulatory guidance to integrate regulations into business processes to maximize outcomes.
- Develop and maintain customs compliance and export procedures, policies, and documentation.
- Collaborate with procurement, suppliers, and other internal and external parties to verify country of origin status for marking and trade agreements.
- Manage relationships with foreign third parties to collect and review business partners.
- Lead international affiliates to ensure import and export certificates and supporting documentation are in place.
- Develop and deliver trade and anti-corruption compliance training across the organization as needed.
- Collect and maintain data related to free trade agreement certification, duty drawback, reconciliation programs and denied party screenings.
- Conduct periodic meetings with third-party suppliers supporting Trade Compliance activities.
- Interact with corporate legal and financial functions on Trade Compliance and Global Anti-Corruption related issues and lead internal and external audit related requirements as needed.
- Review and validate customs valuation elements including assists, tooling, freight, royalties, and related additions.
- Establish broker compliance expectations, entry standards, and documentation requirements.
- Support operational administration of USMCA and other applicable preferential trade programs.
Requirements
- Education:
Minimum bachelor's degree in legal, business, or related field. - Years of
Experience:
10 or more years of trade compliance experience required; 15 or more years preferred. - Leadership experience, both in terms of developing strategic plans and leading people.
- Software Knowledge: SAP, Microsoft Office Applications (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
- Experience leading GACC activities and interpreting government regulations.
- Demonstrated experience managing customs broker relationships and audit programs.
