** Job Description
** Northland Community and Technical College is seeking a motivated and skilled Automotive Service Technology Adjunct Instructor to support the preparation of the next generation of automotive technicians. This position will primarily teach first-year automotive courses in a hands-on, student-centered learning environment that emphasizes technical skill development, safety, and industry readiness.
The ideal candidate is passionate about the automotive industry, committed to student success, and eager to share real-world experience in a collaborative and supportive educational setting.
** Responsibilities:
*** Deliver instruction in first-year Automotive Service Technology courses, including foundational automotive systems
* Facilitate hands-on lab activities aligned with industry standards and safety practices
* Create a positive and inclusive learning environment that promotes student engagement and success
* Assess student learning through assignments, labs, and evaluations
* Maintain current knowledge of automotive technologies and industry trends
* Support student development in technical skills, problem-solving, and workplace readiness
* Collaborate with faculty and program leadership to ensure program quality and consistency
** Salary Range:
** The current salary range is up to $71,893. Part-time faculty pay is determined by the number of assignment credits.
Please note:
Initial salary placement is determined on the basis of education and experience in accordance with the faculty contract.
** Minimum Qualifications
***** Education Requirement
*** Post-secondary diploma or equivalent certificate in Automotive Service Technology or a closely related field
*** Occupational Experience Requirement
*** Four (4) full-time years (or equivalent) of verified related paid work experience in automotive service technology
*** Professional Requirement
*** Current ASE (Automotive Service Excellence) certification in the areas assigned for instruction
** Preferred Qualification
*** Prior teaching or training experience in a postsecondary or industry setting
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills
* Experience with emerging automotive technologies (hybrid, electric vehicles, diagnostics systems)
* Commitment to student-centered teaching and learning
