Job Description
Northland Community and Technical College is seeking a motivated and skilled Automotive Service Technology Adjunct Instructor to support the preparation of the next generation of automotive technicians. This position will primarily teach first-year automotive courses in a hands‑on, student‑centered learning environment that emphasizes technical skill development, safety, and industry readiness. The ideal candidate is passionate about the automotive industry, committed to student success, and eager to share real‑world experience in a collaborative and supportive educational setting.
Responsibilities- Deliver instruction in first-year Automotive Service Technology courses, including foundational automotive systems.
- Facilitate hands‑on lab activities aligned with industry standards and safety practices.
- Create a positive and inclusive learning environment that promotes student engagement and success.
- Assess student learning through assignments, labs, and evaluations.
- Maintain current knowledge of automotive technologies and industry trends.
- Support student development in technical skills, problem‑solving, and workplace readiness.
- Collaborate with faculty and program leadership to ensure program quality and consistency.
Education Requirement:
Post‑secondary diploma or equivalent certificate in Automotive Service Technology or a closely related field.
Occupational Experience Requirement:
Four (4) full‑time years (or equivalent) of verified related paid work experience in automotive service technology.
Professional Requirement:
Current ASE (Automotive Service Excellence) certification in the areas assigned for instruction.
Preferred Qualifications:
Prior teaching or training experience in a postsecondary or industry setting, strong communication and interpersonal skills, experience with emerging automotive technologies (hybrid, electric vehicles, diagnostics systems), commitment to student‑centered teaching and learning.
Work Shift:
Hours / Days of work – part‑time, unclassified – limited (fixed term).
Salary range is $44,144.00 – $99,016.00 per year. Part‑time faculty pay is determined by the number of assignment credits.
