Northland Community and Technical College is seeking a motivated and skilled Automotive Service Technology Adjunct Instructor to support the preparation of the next generation of automotive technicians. This position will primarily teach first-year automotive courses in a hands‑on, student‑centered learning environment that emphasizes technical skill development, safety, and industry readiness.

Responsibilities- Deliver instruction in first‑year Automotive Service Technology courses, including foundational automotive systems
- Facilitate hands‑on lab activities aligned with industry standards and safety practices
- Create a positive and inclusive learning environment that promotes student engagement and success
- Assess student learning through assignments, labs, and evaluations
- Maintain current knowledge of automotive technologies and industry trends
- Support student development in technical skills, problem‑solving, and workplace readiness
- Collaborate with faculty and program leadership to ensure program quality and consistency
The current salary range is up to $71,893. Part‑time faculty pay is determined by the number of assignment credits.
Please note:
Initial salary placement is determined on the basis of education and experience in accordance with the faculty contract.
- Education Requirement: Post‑secondary diploma or equivalent certificate in Automotive Service Technology or a closely related field
- Occupational Experience Requirement: Four (4) full‑time years (or equivalent) of verified related paid work experience in automotive service technology
- Professional Requirement: Current ASE (Automotive Service Excellence) certification in the areas assigned for instruction
- Prior teaching or training experience in a postsecondary or industry setting
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience with emerging automotive technologies (hybrid, electric vehicles, diagnostics systems)
- Commitment to student‑centered teaching and learning
