The Thief River Falls Family Medicine Clinic has an opening for an LPN or Certified Medical Assistant. Clinic hours are Mon‑Fri 8:00 am‑5:00 pm with an every‑other‑month Saturday rotation from 9:00 am‑12:00 pm. Great work/home life balance!

Job Summary

The LPN participates in the implementation and evaluation of patient care, under the supervision of a registered nurse; ensures the health, comfort and safety of patients.

The Medical Assistant (MA) functions within the administration pre‑defined scope of practice guidelines per state location of practice. We are looking for positive, compassionate, and team‑oriented licensed practical nurses (LPN) and certified medical assistants (CMA) who can provide high‑quality care that patients and families deserve. Qualifications
  • The LPN must have graduated from an accredited school or college of nursing program leading to licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse.
  • Associate's degree in practical nursing is preferred.
  • Specific services/positions may have additional education, training or experience requirements.
  • Must have attended a pre‑licensure nursing program that included supervised clinical experience across the life span as part of the curriculum or have had a minimum of 400 hours of experience as an RN (or LPN) at another facility.
  • If IV therapy is required, the incumbent must have completed, upon date of hire or within designated timeframe as determined by the department, a board approved educational program that included intravenous therapy in the curriculum or successfully completed a course in intravenous therapy that was developed according to board guidelines and approved by the board.
  • Requires current licensure as a practical nurse in the state/states of practice.
  • The Certified Medical Assistant must be a graduate of a recognized Medical Assistant program.
  • Prior experience in a healthcare setting is preferred.
  • Nationally certified or registered as a Medical Assistant (MA).
  • Certification (CMA) obtained through a nationally approved certification program for medical assistant, including but not limited to:
    American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA), Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) through the National Health Career Association (NHA), Clinical Medical Assistant Certification (CMAC) through the American Medical Certification Association (AMCA), or National Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA) through the National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT), etc. Registration (RMA) obtained through the American Medical Technologists (AMT) also acceptable.
  • Additional state requirements include:
