Lyman-Morse Boat building is seeking a designer or draftsperson to join our team.
Responsibilities- Design hull and deck structures and interior joinery for construction in wood and composites, and bespoke metal components.
- Work on refits of existing boats as well as new, one‑off and semi‑production designs.
- Produce models and renderings throughout the design phase.
- Interface with customers and production managers.
- Perform weight and material estimates.
- Produce final shop drawings.
- Perform site visits and take accurate measurements of proposed projects.
- Assist with quality control of projects in process.
- CAD experience, including Rhino, AutoCAD and Solid Works.
- Proficiency with software including Excel, Word and Outlook.
- Engineering education and/or experience.
- Knowledge of boating and yacht regulations and methods of construction.
- Composite laminating techniques, industrial metal fabrication, and understanding of welding and welding symbols.
