Educational Paraprofessional Position

Job Description:

Paraprofessional I (more than 25 hours per week; 10 months)

Per CSDE (Use the "Apply for this Job" box below). applicants must have:

* Earned a secondary school diploma, or its equivalent.

* Completed 2 years of study at an institution of higher education, OR

* Earned an Associate's Degree (or higher), OR

* Achieve at least a score of 457 on the ETS Para Pro (thru August 31, 2026), OR

* Achieve at least a score of 332 in Section
1. Reading and Writing; and a score of 334 in Section
2. Mathematics in the new ETS Para Pathways (as of September 1, 2025) Assessment.

Hours per Regular School Day: 7.0 hour shift per regular, in-person school day (6.5 paid hours; 0.5 unpaid lunch break; no additional breaks)

* Payrate: $18.42 per hour

The Thomaston Public Schools district is located in Thomaston, Connecticut which encompasses a land area of 12 square miles and has a population of 7,922. The Town is 10 miles south of Torrington, 23 miles west of Hartford and is bordered by Waterbury, Plymouth, Harwinton, Litchfield, and Watertown. Thomaston is a residential community that consists predominantly of single-family homes affordable across a broad range of income levels.
