Career OpportunityWe are searching for a Value Stream Manager to enhance, encourage, and provide the tools and leadership necessary for the smooth operation of our Thomaston Manufacturing Operations. The role requires driving safety culture, process improvement, budget management, and technology roadmap development.
Responsibilities- Ensure EHS compliance by actively searching for potential risks, mitigating them, reporting incidents, and implementing corrective and preventive measures.
- Promote employee engagement and talent development: review performance, provide timely feedback, mentor and motivate direct reports, develop an internal talent pool, resolve functional issues, and build a transparent, cooperative, trustworthy working environment.
- Direct and plan the operational efforts of manufacturing departments to ensure compliance with company policies and industry standards (safety, ISO, and regulatory).
- Monitor, track, and analyze production efficiencies; develop business plans, budgets, staffing plans, and forecasts.
- Review manufacturing methods and develop product/process/system strategies to meet company objectives for quality, cost, responsiveness, and growth.
- Analyze data and recommend improvements in day‑to‑day operations of the materials and production departments.
- Plan, develop, and implement strategic action plans in conjunction with annual objectives.
- Drive accountability and execution through operations team resources, meeting operational needs and budgetary requirements.
- Generate capital requests and manage the capital budget for the department.
- Research, evaluate, recommend, and implement investments in technology, equipment, or systems that enhance the plant's production capabilities, optimize production, improve efficiency, and reduce conversion cost.
- Leverage Lean tools to push process improvements and maintain a continuous improvement culture.
- Facilitate problem solving within departments and cross‑functionally.
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field; preferred experience in plastic injection molding and/or high‑speed automated assembly.
- Minimum 8‑10 years progressive management experience in a high‑volume manufacturing environment.
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced, rapidly changing environment.
- Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience managing production operations through a Manufacturing Execution System (MATTEC preferred).
- Lean Manufacturing, 5S, and Six Sigma training.
- Strong continuous improvement record.
- Experience managing engineers, technicians, supervisors, and production associates.
- Strong knowledge of injection molding tooling and polymers.
- Coaching and mentoring skills with strong leadership, organizational, and communication abilities.
- Understanding of quality standards and health & safety regulations.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
