Job Description & How to Apply Below

A day in the life

At Thomaston Comfort Control in Thomaston, CT, you start your morning reviewing your schedule of residential visits. First stop: swapping out an aging furnace and commissioning a high-efficiency replacement. Next, you fine-tune airflow by adding a short run of duct and a smart thermostat, then diagnose a finicky air conditioner at the end of the street. Between calls, you communicate clearly with homeowners, document your work, order the parts you know you’ll need tomorrow, and keep safety practices front and center.

Every visit ends with a comfortable home and a satisfied client.

What you’ll handle
  • Install, maintain, and repair residential heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems (furnaces, air conditioners, and ventilation components).
  • Install ductwork and thermostats to control HVAC systems.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot performance issues to restore optimal system operation.
  • Deliver excellent customer service by clearly explaining options, findings, and solutions.
  • Perform routine maintenance and preventative measures to extend system life.
  • Track and maintain inventory of replacement parts and place orders for needed items.
  • Complete all required documentation and reports accurately and on time.
  • Follow all safety protocols and regulations to ensure a safe job site.
What you bring
  • Valid HVAC license and relevant certifications.
  • Proven experience as an HVAC technician, ideally focused on residential work.
  • Thorough knowledge of HVAC systems, tools, and diagnostic equipment.
  • Strong problem-solving ability and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Clear, professional communication with clients and teammates.
  • Strong work ethic and a commitment to delivering quality service.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
