Physician Billing Specialist
Processes claims daily for Assigned Entities, which consists of working Gaffey error reports and reviewing and editing uploaded claims as necessary to insure a clean and timely claim. Identifies and bills secondary or tertiary insurance. Reviews patient accounts for pending insurance payments, taking the necessary action to have the claim processed. Corrects and updates account demographics as needed. Research and appeal denied the claims.
Review accounts with insurance credits for refund and/or corrections that need to be made. Assists patients with accounts.
High School Diploma or Equivalent
Experience Minimum3 or more years experience in a Medical Office setting with some public contact involving problem-solving and billing.
Preferred- 3 or more years experience in a Medical Billing Office setting with some public contact involving problem-solving and billing;
- Certification of Pt Acct or Billing; or related experience
