Lab Section / Hematology Dept. Supervisor
Upson Regional Medical Center, Thomaston, Georgia, United States
Responsibilities:
- Supervise all work and tests performed in designated lab departments, including Microbiology, Serology and Urinalysis, Hematology, Chemistry, Blood Bank, and Point of Care.
- Maintain instruments, perform daily maintenance, and review all test procedures for updates in procedure manuals.
- Oversee all quality control and quality improvement activities for the section.
- Train personnel in all techniques and general workflow of the department.
- Communicate administrative technical procedures and policies to team members.
- May collect specimens from patients of all ages, from neonates to the elderly.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in a related field.
- Certification as a Medical Laboratory Technologist (or equivalent certification).
- Three years of clinical experience, preferably in an acute care hospital setting.
- Preference for more than three years in an acute care hospital setting.
