About the Company /The Opportunity:
This Millwright role offers hands‑on work maintaining and repairing heavy production equipment, applying mechanical, hydraulic and fabrication skills to minimize downtime and support continuous manufacturing operations. The position provides opportunities for skilled trades professionals to grow within a stable production environment while contributing directly to plant reliability and safety.
Responsibilities:- Read, interpret, and work from equipment drawings, blueprints, and schematics to plan repairs and installations.
- Perform routine preventive maintenance (PM) and inspections to ensure equipment reliability and production continuity.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and hydraulic system failures, implementing timely repairs to minimize downtime.
- Cut, weld, and fabricate steel components; perform shaft building, fitting, and precision assembly for replacements.
- Remove and replace sprockets, bearings, chains, and other power transmission components.
- Safely install, align, and commission machinery and production equipment following lock‑out/tagout and machine isolation procedures.
- Complete work orders, submit maintenance requests, and document repairs and parts used.
- Work in varying seasonal and plant conditions, meeting physical requirements including lifting up to 50 lbs and climbing as needed.
Skills:
- 2+ years of millwright or equivalent industrial maintenance experience (2‑4 years preferred).
- Proven mechanical troubleshooting and repair skills on industrial machinery and power transmission systems.
- Hands‑on experience with hydraulic systems and hydraulic troubleshooting.
- Skilled in welding and steel/metal fabrication for field repairs and component rebuilds.
- Ability to build and fit shafts, perform precision measurement, and complete bearing replacements.
- Competence reading and interpreting blueprints, equipment drawings, and technical documentation.
- Strict adherence to Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), safety procedures, and industrial safety standards.
Skills:
- Prior experience in lumber, mill, or forest products manufacturing operations.
- Certifications or formal training in millwright trade, welding (e.g., AWS), or related mechanical disciplines.
- Experience with PLCs, basic electrical troubleshooting, or automated production equipment.
- Forklift, crane, or rigging certifications and safe material‑handling experience.
- Familiarity with preventive maintenance programs, CMMS, and parts inventory practices.
