Executive Director of Facility Operations

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in facilities management, architecture, engineering, or a Master's in Business/Healthcare Administration. Certified Energy Manager (CEM), desired Certified Healthcare Safety Professional (CHSP), desired Proven leadership in facility operations, project management, and budget oversight; experience with capital projects, compliance, and sustainability initiatives is preferred.

Responsibilities:
Responsible for the strategic planning, management, and execution of all facility-related activities to ensure facilities operate efficiently, safely, and in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations, while supporting the organization's long-term goals. Plans and recommends the development of physical facilities in collaboration with organizational leadership. Reviews and recommends approval of plans for construction and infrastructure upgrades. Advises on structural changes and additions or modifications to buildings.

Acts as liaison with contractors, developers, architects, engineers, and materials and equipment suppliers. Approves contracted work. Manages multiple concurrent engineering projects, schedules, budgets and resource allocation, ensuring all continue to move forward appropriately. Effectively communicates with affected departments on the status and progress of related projects in terms of budget, schedule, and operational impact. Analyzes financial and work impact of major project decisions prior to and during project, identify trends associated with projects.

Develops and implements short and long-term operational plans to improve and increase productivity, efficiencies, and cost containment with a focus on best practices, healthcare trends, and innovative solutions while remaining in compliance with all applicable state and federal regulations. Ensures that all required documentation is properly completed, maintained, and archived to ensure compliance with all Joint Commission standards including Equipment Management, Utility Management, Security Management, Hazardous Materials and Wastes Management, Fire Safety Management, and Life Safety.

Strong strategic planning, budgeting, project management, contract negotiation, leadership, and problem-solving skills; familiarity with safety, environmental, and energy management standards. Must be able to sit for long periods of time, some standing and walking. Must possess good visual acuity, with corrective lenses if necessary, to read printed materials. Must possess good hearing ability, with auditory aids if necessary, to understand the normal speaking voice without viewing the speaker, and good speaking ability to ask and answer questions and relay information to others.

Must be able to work under stressful conditions and in stressful situations.
