Operate telephone switchboards and consoles to connect, hold, transfer and disconnect telephone calls;
Assist callers to make telephone connections and relay incoming, outgoing and inter-office calls;
Train other operators on hospital telephone switchboard and related applications;
Manage switchboard staff shift schedules and manage the on-call scheduling system;
Maintain a centralized information source covering outages, emergencies and disasters affecting telephone service
