Position: Sign Language Interpreter (ASL) | Thomasville, Georgia

Experience a rewarding opportunity making an impact in educational settings as a full-time American Sign Language (ASL) Interpreter. This onsite, contract position allows you to support students and staff in a collaborative learning environment for the upcoming school year.

Skills and Experience:
  • Nationally recognized certification in sign language interpretation (such as EIPA, RID, or NIC)
  • Proficiency in American Sign Language and English
  • Previous experience supporting students in K-12 educational settings is highly valued
  • Ability to interpret complex subject matter and adapt communication styles for various age groups and needs
  • Strong commitment to student inclusion, confidentiality, and cultural sensitivity
  • Effective interpersonal and problem-solving skills
  • Dependable work ethic and flexibility in adapting to dynamic classroom situations
Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide accurate and timely interpretation between spoken English and American Sign Language in classroom settings, assemblies, extracurricular activities, and school meetings
  • Assist students who are deaf or hard of hearing in fully accessing the curriculum and participating in all aspects of their educational experience
  • Collaborate with teachers, support staff, and administration to help implement accommodations and best practices for student success
  • Maintain professional boundaries and confidentiality at all times
  • Participate in student support meetings and implement strategies for effective communication between all parties
  • Maintain records as required and uphold standards of professional practice
