PositionSummary
The Director of Finance is a senior finance leader responsible for both strategic financial leadership and accounting excellence across the organization. This role partners closely with executive leadership to drive financial discipline, insight, and scalability while ensuring accurate reporting, strong controls, and operational rigor. This position also plays a critical role in translating performance data into actionable decisions that support growth, profitability, and long-term enterprise value, while maintaining full ownership of accounting operations, financial reporting integrity, and consolidated multi-entity financial results.
Job Duties- Financial Leadership:
Serve as the senior finance leader supporting executive decision-making by translating financial data into clear insights, recommendations, and trade-offs related to growth, profitability, and capital allocation - Strategic Planning:
Lead annual budgeting, rolling forecasts, and long-range financial planning processes, ensuring financial targets align with company strategy, operating plans, and leadership priorities - Financial Analysis:
Own advanced financial modeling, scenario analysis, and KPI development to evaluate performance, identify risks and opportunities, and support initiatives such as pricing, expansion, and cost optimization - Management Reporting:
Design and deliver timely, accurate financial reporting for executives, including income statements, cash flow analysis, balance sheet insights, and variance analysis versus plan and prior periods - Accounting Oversight:
Oversee day-to-day accounting operations including general ledger management, multi-unit consolidations, and full ownership of the monthly and annual close processes, including accruals and reconciliations, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and compliance with GAAP - Controls & Compliance:
Establish and maintain strong internal controls, accounting policies, and procedures to ensure financial integrity, audit readiness, and compliance with tax, regulatory, and lender requirements - Cash Flow Management:
Monitor and manage cash flow, working capital, and liquidity, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, inventory impacts, and forward-looking cash forecasting - Systems & Process Improvement:
Lead finance system optimization and automation initiatives to improve efficiency, scalability, and data accuracy across accounting, reporting, and analytics workflows - Cross-Functional Partnership:
Partner closely with operations, sales, HR, and executive leadership to provide financial guidance, support business cases, and embed financial discipline across the organization - Team Development:
Build, mentor, and manage the finance and accounting team by setting clear expectations, developing talent, and fostering a high-performance, detail-oriented finance culture
- Education:
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field required. CPA, CFA, or MBA, preferred - Experience:
7 - 10+ years of progressive experience in finance and accounting roles, with exposure to both FP&A and accounting operations, required. Prior experience in multi-location, retail, distribution, or consumer-facing business preferred, including ownership of budgeting, forecasting, monthly close, and executive reporting
