Overview

Cobb Law Group is a boutique construction law firm representing clients in high-value disputes across Georgia and beyond. Our practice focuses on sophisticated construction litigation, including lien claims, payment bond claims, and complex contract disputes involving projects throughout the state and in federal jurisdictions.

We represent national and international companies, major contractors and suppliers, and select smaller construction businesses facing critical disputes. We are seeking a litigation associate to help expand our growing litigation department. This position is open to both experienced litigators and high-performing third-year law students or recent graduates seeking a serious litigation career.

About the Firm

Our attorneys distinguish themselves through exceptional academic backgrounds, deep subject-matter expertise, and a commitment to mastering the legal frameworks that govern construction disputes.

Firm founder Mark Cobb has spoken and published extensively on Georgia lien law, payment bond claims, Miller Act litigation, and construction contracting. His reputation for command of Georgia lien law is widely recognized within the construction bar and industry, and he has been instrumental in drafting legislation which helps the construction industry.

Our litigation work is sophisticated, fast-paced, and strategically driven. Associates work directly on complex matters and interact with decision-makers at leading construction companies.

Responsibilities
  • Assist in managing construction litigation matters from inception through resolution
  • Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and discovery in state and federal courts
  • Conduct legal research focused on lien law, payment bonds, and contract disputes
  • Participate in depositions, hearings, mediations, arbitrations, and trials
  • Communicate directly with commercial clients
  • Support development of litigation strategy on high-stakes disputes

Responsibilities will expand quickly based on performance and initiative.

Qualifications

For Experienced Attorneys:

  • 1–6+ years of litigation experience (construction, commercial, or federal litigation preferred)
  • Georgia bar admission (or ability to obtain promptly)
  • Strong analytical writing and advocacy skills

For Law Students / Recent Graduates:

  • Top academic performance or strong credentials
  • Excellent legal writing ability
  • Demonstrated interest in litigation or construction/commercial law
  • Desire to build a long-term career in a specialized litigation practice
What Makes This Opportunity Unique
  • Direct involvement in sophisticated, statewide construction litigation
  • Mentorship from attorneys recognized as leaders in Georgia construction law
  • Exposure to national and international clients
  • Meaningful responsibility early in your career
  • Opportunity to help shape and grow an expanding litigation department
  • Work and live in a very unique, thriving community

This role is ideal for someone who wants to become a true construction litigator — not just another associate in a general practice.
