Xylem/Evoqua Is Hiring — Thomasville, NC

Production Supervisor | Third Shift (7:30 PM — 6:00 AM) – Lead third-shift manufacturing operations producing large-scale wastewater treatment equipment in carbon and stainless steel. This role is accountable for:

• Executing production schedules while optimizing labor, equipment, and throughput
• Driving Lean Manufacturing fundamentals (standard work, 5S, waste elimination, problem solving)
• Managing WIP, inventory accuracy, and material flow to support on-time delivery
• Enforcing quality systems, safety standards, and process discipline on the shop floor
• Leading teams through data-driven decision making, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement

This is a hands-on leadership role for a supervisor who understands fabrication and assembly environments and can translate lean principles into measurable operational results—especially on off-shift operations.

• Implement lean manufacturing initiatives to improve workflow and reduce waste
• Identify and execute process improvements to enhance productivity and quality
• Monitor inventory levels to ensure material availability and minimize downtime

• Supervise and coordinate a team of approximately 25 direct reports
• Manage daily operations to meet production schedules and quality standards
• Conduct shift meetings and communicate updates to management and team members
• Ensure equipment and facility maintenance to support continuous production

• Enforce safety protocols and promote a culture of safety and accountability
• Ensure compliance with regulatory and company safety standards

• Maintain and enforce quality control measures
• Conduct inspections and implement corrective actions as needed

• Provide coaching, feedback, and performance evaluations
• Foster a collaborative and motivated team environment
• Resolve conflicts constructively and support team adaptability

• Manage departmental budget and control operational expenses
• Stay informed on industry trends and integrate best practices
• Support decision-making aligned with organizational goals

Required:

• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
• Solid understanding of inventory management and lean manufacturing
• Ability to make informed decisions and adapt to changing priorities

Preferred:

• Experience with SAP and Workday systems
• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or related field
• Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience, including at least 1 year in a supervisory role

The estimated salary range for this position is $72,300 — $85,000 plus bonus. Starting pay is dependent on multiple factors, such as skills, experience and work location, and is not typically at the top of the range.
