We are seeking a qualified Production Supervisor to work first shift (
Schedule:
M‑F with occasional weekend, 5:30 AM-3:30 PM or until end of production) for our Thomasville, Georgia Further Processing Facility.
Responsible for shift production operations. Provide a safe and healthy work environment free of all recognizable hazards. Understand and adhere to policies related to safety and assure others do the same. Coach, train and instruct employees on how to consistently produce a quality product while eliminating waste. Monitor performance based on expectations. Relay information daily to Production Manager and other supervisors.
ESSENTIALFUNCTIONS
- Oversees assigned processing activities, keeping consistent with our quality standards, federal and state regulations. Also responsible for maintaining and meeting the criteria set by customers and FPL Food in relationship to our current GMP and HACCP standards.
- Facilitate, develop and evaluate employees in assigned areas to make sure that our standard operating procedures are being followed in a safe and consistent manner. Train and coach employees as needed.
- Maintain manpower documentation including assuring time and attendance is kept up to date daily.
- Maintain the consistent flow of processing raw materials to produce maximum efficiency, quality, and throughput. Investigate and monitor production problems to help reduce and/or eliminate waste.
- Responsible for making sure that all employees adhere to plant policies, procedures, work rules and safety standards. Keep lines of communication open with the Human Resource Department concerning policies to ensure guidelines are being met.
- Responsible to maintain a clean safe environment for all employees and to work closely with the Safety Department to help audit and eliminate any unsafe hazards in the work area.
- Lead or participate in process improvement through the use of Six Sigma and project management as needed.
High school diploma or equivalent (GED). Associates or Bachelor’s degree in Operations, Manufacturing, Business Management, Food Science.
EXPERIENCETwo years supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment with responsibility of monitoring employee time in Kronos or similar timekeeping system. A Bachelor’s degree and leadership experience while in college may substitute for the two years supervisory experience.
SPECIAL SKILLS, COMPETENCIES, AND OTHER QUALIFICATIONS1. Must demonstrate recognized leadership ability and strong interpersonal skills.
2. Excellent communication, written and oral, and customer service relationship skills.
3. Working knowledge of environmental and safety regulations.
4. Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
Schedule: M-F with occasional Weekends (5 AM-3:00 PM)
