SUMMARY OF POSITIONResponsible for the coordination of hourly employees in the shipping department, the accurate shipping of available to ship finished product inventory and tracking.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS- Ensures identification and record dates and product conditions are on each pallet being shipped.
- Ensures products, parts, or supplies are shipped, distributed, or received in an efficient manner. Ensure all shipments are recorded correctly and bill lading are properly filled out and all paper work is correctly distributed to proper personnel.
- Confers with department heads to ensure coordination of warehouse activities such as production, sales, records control, and purchasing departments.
- Prepares or reviews distribution documents.
- Screens and hires warehouse personnel and issues work assignments.
- Coordinates the upkeep of housekeeping, product knowledge and current inventory of dry storage, shipping dock, and box cooler.
- Maintains records of inventories and location for production control and cost accounting.
- Inspects all outgoing and incoming trailers for temperature, cleanliness, structure, and unit merchandise. Verifies seals are still applied on storage loads and applies seals on all outgoing loads.
- Inspects cooler inventory to ensure the integrity of aged product is being rotated properly before shipping.
- Coordinates forklift operators, hand jack operators, and general utility personnel on dock, pack off, box cooler, and production areas. Ensures all safety procedures are followed in accordance with plant and OSHA guidelines.
- May require availability outside of normal business hours.
- Recognized leadership ability and strong interpersonal skills.
- Excellent communication, written and oral, and customer service relationship skills.
Typically requires a high school diploma or equivalent (GED).
EXPERIENCE- Requires 3 years shipping experience.
- Requires 2 years supervisory experience.
Up to 10% travel.
SHIFT SCHEDULERotating swing shift that includes Day Shift (6:30AM‑3:30PM) and Night Shift (3PM‑Est. 1AM).
LOCATIONThomasville, GA, US.
SALARY RANGE$50,000.00 to $80,000.00 Annually.
