Job Summary
Fusion Medical Staffing‑Nursing is seeking a travel nurse RN in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU) for a 13‑week assignment in Thomasville, Georgia. The role requires a registered nurse with step‑down or progressive care experience.
Responsibilities- Monitors and interprets cardiac rhythms, vital signs, and telemetry data to detect abnormalities and respond appropriately.
- Administers prescribed medications and treatments per approved nursing techniques, focusing on cardiac care.
- Prepares equipment and assists physicians during cardiac‑related procedures and examinations.
- Maintains awareness of comfort and safety needs of telemetry patients.
- Observes patients, records significant conditions and reactions, and notifies supervisor or physician of cardiac status and response to interventions.
- Responds to life‑saving situations based on nursing standards, policies, procedures, and protocols specific to cardiac emergencies.
- Documents nursing history and physical assessment for assigned telemetry patients.
- Initiates patient education plans according to individualized needs, focusing on cardiac health, risk factors, and lifestyle modifications.
- Collaborates with the interdisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive care.
- Maintains confidentiality of patients and client information.
- Performs other duties as assigned within the scope of practice.
- Adheres to hospital safety protocols, infection control guidelines, and regulatory standards.
- One year of recent experience as a Stepdown RN.
- Current valid RN license in compliance with state regulations.
- Current BLS Certification (AHA/ARC).
- Current ACLS Certification (AHA/ARC).
- Progressive Care Certified Nurse (PCCN) Certification (preferred).
- NIHSS Certification (preferred).
- Other certifications and licenses may be required for this position.
- Critical thinking, service excellence, and strong interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to read, write, and communicate in English.
- Competent PC skills.
- Physical abilities: remain stationary, move equipment (50‑100lbs), push, pull, and bend.
- Interpersonal skills: work effectively with a variety of personnel, maintain positive attitude and professionalism.
- Technical/motor skills: perform fine manipulation, push/pull, and assist with procedures and equipment.
- Mental requirements: cope with frequent contact with the public and customers, meet deadlines under pressure, work with or without supervision.
- Sensory requirements: visual acuity, effective communication.
