Breast Cancer Navigator
Interacts and communicates with breast cancer patients. Interacts with physicians, other hospital personnel, and departments involved with the care of cancer patients. Develops knowledge of and working relationships with community resources that aid breast cancer patients. Tracks interventions and outcomes. Has a background and familiarity with personal computers; possesses the ability to communicate orally and in written form; works effectively in a team environment;
has excellent interpersonal skills; possesses knowledge of community resources, hospital processes, structure, and function. Good physical and mental health. Must be able to bend, lift, push without limitation, using good body mechanics. Must possess physical stamina, be able to sit for long periods, and walk some distance. Must possess visual acuity with corrective lenses and able to read written materials.
Also, must possess good hearing ability with corrective aids to hear normal speech and telephone voices. Must be able to work under stressful conditions and situations. Must be able to work under direct supervision or independently as required.
Education/
Experience:
Degree in Community Counseling, Nursing, Psychology, or other related field. One year of oncology experience preferred.
