Role Description

Pre‑K–3rd Grade Teachers at Thomasville City Schools are responsible for planning and delivering standards-based instruction that supports foundational literacy, numeracy, and social-emotional skills. Day-to-day tasks include creating lesson plans, implementing developmentally appropriate activities, assessing student progress, and differentiating instruction to meet diverse learning needs. Teachers maintain a positive, structured classroom environment, communicate regularly with families and colleagues, and participate in grade-level and school-wide collaboration.

Duties also include monitoring student behavior, documenting academic and behavioral data, attending professional development sessions, and following district policies and state guidelines. This is a full-time, on‑site role located in Thomasville, NC.

Qualifications
  • Candidates should possess strong Teaching and Elementary Education skills, with experience working with Pre‑K through 3rd‑grade learners.
  • Candidates should possess Curriculum Development and Education skills, including the ability to design and implement standards-based, developmentally appropriate lessons.
  • Candidates should possess effective Communication skills for engaging students, collaborating with staff, and building partnerships with families and caregivers.
  • Relevant qualifications include a valid North Carolina teaching license (or eligibility for licensure) in Elementary or Early Childhood Education.
  • Additional beneficial qualifications include experience with differentiated instruction, classroom management, assessment practices, and familiarity with MTSS or similar support frameworks.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and commitment to fostering an inclusive, culturally responsive classroom are highly valued.
