Manufacturing Engineer
Position Summary
The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for developing and implementing optimal, cost-effective manufacturing processes and methods in accordance with product specifications and quality standards; recommends and implements improvements to production processes, methods and controls; coordinates manufacturing launch for new and or revised products & processes.
Principal Functional Responsibilities- Designs, develops and tests and/or sources and cost-justifies various tools, machinery and equipment for recommended manufacturing methods.
- Provides technical support, performs product/process analysis for cost reduction, quality improvement, and improved efficiency.
- Manages all aspects of assigned engineering projects.
- Manages all aspects of projects, budgets, including outside suppliers and contractors.
- Leads new equipment purchase, installation/implementation, and training of team members.
- Represents manufacturing on cross functional teams.
- Supports production, quality, safety, and lean initiatives to improve OEE and overall facility performance.
- Supports and leads Maintenance Engineering Techs with troubleshooting of all current and or new equipment.
- Collaborates and supports in the development and documentation of manufacturing processes.
- Performs all other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
- 5+ years of manufacturing or industrial engineering experience.
- 5+ years of experience troubleshooting mechanical and electrical industrial controls.
- Experience with CAPEX projects, including automation and robotics.
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement (Kaizen).
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and Solid Works; able to interpret and modify tooling and layout drawings.
- Ability to travel up to 10-15%.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across cross-functional teams.
- Proven ability to organize, prioritize, and manage work to meet deadlines.
- Ability to work independently with high effectiveness, flexibility, and initiative.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and troubleshooting skills.
- Excellent mechanical aptitude.
- Master's degree in engineering or related field.
- Experience in tube forming and welding.
- Knowledge of PFMEA's, Control Plans, core tools.
- Familiarity with the plumbing, automotive, aerospace and/or consumer goods industries.
