Position Type: Project-Based, approximately 18 months
Nordfab is seeking a Project Application Engineer to support the implementation of an Automated Guided Vehicle/Forklift (AGV/AGF) project at our Thomasville, NC manufacturing facility.
This hands-on role will support the installation, deployment, testing, troubleshooting, and ongoing performance of automated equipment in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
This position is expected to last approximately 18 months
, with the potential for full-time employment upon successful project completion and based on business needs. The selected candidate will complete approximately 1 to 2 months of initial training in Atlanta, GA
.
- Support onsite deployment, testing, debugging, and troubleshooting of AGV/AGF systems.
- Monitor equipment performance and track project status.
- Maintain project documentation and provide regular updates to the Project Manager.
- Assist with project schedules, milestones, and implementation plans.
- Coordinate with vendors and internal teams to resolve technical issues.
- Communicate project status, risks, and issues to key stakeholders.
- Support continuous improvement of automated equipment and processes.
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Automation, Robotics, or a related technical field preferred.
- Experience with automation, robotics, AGV/AGF systems, forklifts, or industrial equipment preferred.
- Working knowledge of CAD and Solid Works
. - Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Power Point .
- Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a manufacturing environment.
- Willingness to travel for training and project-related activities.
Must be able to work in a manufacturing environment and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
