Primary Objective

Assists in packaging of laminate flooring panels by training to operate various automated industrial machinery components on production lines to meet the required quality specifications.

Major Function and Scope
  • Responsible for quality inspections and testing throughout shift, with attention to identifying quality and manufacturing defects.
  • Gains understanding of correct parameters specific to Packaging Department processes in order to minimize defect opportunities and applies knowledge to increase production output.
  • Trains to perform necessary adjustments to production line, via feedback from automated systems monitoring and product specifications.
  • Adheres to Company and Department standards regarding documentation, set up procedures, production procedures, and quality guidelines.
  • Abides by documentation standards and catalogues adherence to production procedures, including shift reports and varying checklists.
  • Understands and follows all Company and Department safety policies, including personal protective equipment and alternate work procedures.
  • Attends any job‑related training deemed necessary by supervision.
  • Follows all established standard operating procedures.
  • Performs general housekeeping duties as necessary.
  • Performs other tasks assigned by management.
Type of Experience and Knowledge
  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • 1+ year experience in a manufacturing setting preferred.
  • 1+ year familiarity with production mechanical systems preferred.
  • 1+ year training in quality processes or procedures preferred.
  • Proficient computer literacy necessary to complete various tasks.
  • Ability to troubleshoot independently through use of problem‑solving skills and critical thinking.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to work both independently and within a team setting, including communication with various other Departments via radio, phone, and in‑person conversations.
Physical Requirements / Other Pertinent Job Information
  • This position requires the team member to work with machinery in an environment where there may be fluctuating temperatures, and additional department‑specific variables. Appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) will be required, and may include hearing protection, safety shoes, high‑visibility clothing, and eye protection.
  • Other working conditions may include working 12 hour shifts and a fixed shift rotation, including holidays.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.; walking, bending, squatting, climbing ladders and stairs are required.
