Summary
The Product Development Assistant will be responsible for assisting in the development of new products from concept to creation. To be successful in this role, you must have a strong sense of design and crafting knowledge/understanding. In addition, drive, detail orientation, flexibility are also key attributes to consider when stepping into this role.
Key ResponsibilitiesDescribe the job's essential duties and responsibilities using clear, declarative statements in priority order.
- Collaborates with the Product Development Coordinator to understand and interpret product concepts.
- Develops poly, cushions, and cutting patterns with precision and efficiency.
- Makes and maintains product specifications for each new style.
- Works with outside vendors to coordinate product materials for new styles and one-time customs.
- Conduct thorough quality assessment at each stage of the development process to ensure adherence to design standards and specifications.
- Stays abreast of industry trends, materials, and techniques to continually enhance product quality and innovation.
- Works closely with each department to ensure seamless execution of the product.
- Manages multiple projects simultaneously, adhering to deadlines and budget constraints.
- Provide technical guidance and support to production teams to resolve any issues that may arise during the manufacturing process.
- Must be able to work thoughtfully and thoroughly with continuous attention to detail
- Must be able to read and interpret CAD drawings.
- The ability to stand, walk, stoop, and bend for up to eight hours or more daily
- Ability to learn quickly and retain a wide range of small details concerning multiple product types, tasks, system processes, issues, and/or projects
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Comfortable multi-tasking, or, pivoting between tasks as the need arises
- Willingness to learn new products, procedures, and processes as business needs change
- A friendly attitude with the ability to deliver exceptional customer service and be a team player and stay self-motivated in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with internal and external customers
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Must have 3 - 5 years of experience with High-end Upholstered Furniture Pattern making.

- Must be able to sit, stand, walk, stoop, and bend for 8 hours or more daily.
- Requires lifting 0-25 lbs continuously, 25-50 lbs occasionally.
