Enhance BC's fisheries as a Fish Biologist with the Thompson Okanagan Fisheries Team. Drive conservation efforts through hands-on fieldwork and collaborative partnerships in this pivotal role.
The Thompson Okanagan Fisheries Team is seeking a dedicated Fish Biologist. This role requires two years of experience in biological sciences and focuses on habitat restoration, fish population management, and data analysis. You will collaborate with First Nations and key stakeholders to develop sustainable solutions for fish habitats and populations.
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead field studies and collect biological data
• Analyze data to inform conservation strategies
• Build partnerships with First Nations and community groups
• Guide mitigation strategies for local ecosystems
• Advise decision-makers on fisheries management
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Biological Sciences or related field
• Two years of experience in fisheries management
• Ability to communicate results effectively
• Registered or eligible for RPBio registration
• Valid BC driver’s license for field work
