Step into a rewarding role supporting student growth as a Special Education Teacher in a collaborative school environment near Thompson, CT. This contract opportunity includes both high school and middle school positions with immediate start dates through the end of the school year.

Available Openings:
  • High School (Grades 9-12):
    Primary priority. Work with a mild to moderate student population in an inclusion/resource setting.

    Hours:

    7:15 AM - 2:30 PM, Monday through Friday.
  • Middle School (Grades 6-8):
    Self-contained autism classroom.

    Hours:

    7:25 AM - 2:05 PM, Monday through Friday.
Qualifications:
  • Valid Special Education teaching certification (applicable to grades K-12).
  • Experience working with students at the K-5, 6-8, and/or 9-12 levels (preferred).
  • Prior involvement in inclusion/resource settings and/or self-contained classrooms is advantageous.
  • Strong collaboration and communication abilities for working closely with families, paraprofessionals, and multidisciplinary teams.
  • A proactive, adaptable, and compassionate approach to supporting diverse learning needs.
Responsibilities:
  • Plan and deliver individualized instruction to students in alignment with IEP goals.
  • Foster a supportive and inclusive classroom culture.
  • Adapt teaching strategies to accommodate a range of learning styles and abilities.
  • Conduct regular student assessments and maintain progress records.
  • Collaborate with school staff, related service providers, and families to maximize student success.
  • Contribute to a positive and productive school climate.
