CDL-A Dedicated Yard Jockey

Overview

A. Duie Pyle is seeking an experienced, motivated full-time Dedicated CDL-A Qualified Yard Jockey in Thompson, CT. This role involves moving trucks from the yard to buildings and back, maneuvering trucks into loading or unloading positions as needed, and running between plants as required.

• Move trailers around the terminal to various locations.
• Maneuver trucks into loading and unloading positions.
• Visually inspect trailers and/or trucks before and after moving each.
• Connect tractors to trailers.
• Assist with the unloading and loading of freight as needed.
• Maintain documentation of each trailer moved throughout the assigned shift.

• Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License.
• Minimum 1 year of recent CDL-A experience; van-type trailer preferred.
• Previous jockey or switcher experience preferred.
• Currently hold, or obtain, a non-excepted interstate DOT medical card.
• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• No more than three moving violations and/or accidents within the last three years (subject to review).
• Ability to communicate effectively; must read, write, and speak English.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain TSA security clearance.

• Earn $29.00 per hour.
• Weekly pay via direct deposit; overtime after 40 hours.
• Start time: 11:00 AM, Monday to Friday, with Saturdays if needed.
